Background Checks

For your safety and security we require background checks as a condition of membership.

We have provided high-quality introduction services in Colorado for over eleven years, our experience has confirmed the value of criminal records background checks. However, we still find issues that cause us to reject applicants. Rarely do we see felonies, however we do see misdemeanor offences or restraining orders that indicate to us that a prospective member is not suitable for our service.

A criminal can always return to God's grace simply by the acceptance of Jesus Christ, however it is beyond our ability to determine if a particular person has been reborn. Our paramount concern is for the safety of our members. Because we do not have access to St Peter's database we must use the information that is available to us.

We start the background check by verifying identity using a combination of name, date of birth and address information. A partial social security number match is made to confirm the identity (this only requires the first three digits of the social security number). Date of birth, current and previous residential addresses are confirmed, this information is then used to conduct a criminal records search. Criminal records are checked on a national level, then on a state and/or county level, depending on the jurisdiction.

For a number of good reasons the background checks do not include credit checks, the main reason is that your personal finances are none of our business. There are legal considerations that would preclude us from running credit checks even if we were inclined to do so.

We use reliable sources with years of experience in collected public records data. Background checks are not guaranteed to find every criminal incident, or absolutely verify marital status and date of birth, however they are an effective deterrent to individuals who do not meet our high standards of membership.

Cause for rejection - We are particular; we will reject an applicant with a felony conviction or a misdemeanor conviction of a crime against person(s), property or a crime of a sexual nature. More than one DUI and/or DWI conviction within the past ten years will also cause rejection. Other significant misdemeanor convictions and restraining orders may be cause for rejection, these are considered on a case-by-case basis.
